The world's biggest little play festival 

Short+Sweet Yorkshire runs 7–22 August at St Wilfrid's Hall, Harrogate.

Four heats, a semi-final, and a grand final where the audience helps pick the winner.

Heat 2 is Man Vs Magpie

Some battles just aren't worth fighting... unless you're Dave.

After losing the first round to a particularly determined magpie, Dave has a choice: listen to his wife and walk away... or go back for round two.

Man Vs Magpie is a laugh-out-loud comedy about pride, persistence and one very feisty bird.

Featuring Katherine Andrew, Joel Dean and Cass McClintock, under the direction of James Reilly, this hilarious play is one of nine original productions in Heat Two of Short + Sweet Yorkshire.

I'm Thrilled to Announce is a comedy that skewers LinkedIn culture, corporate  positivity and the pressure to turn every personal disaster into a "new opportunity."

Starring Katherine Andrew, with writer-director Fiona Georgiou Hunt, this  one-woman play is one of nine original plays in Heat Three of Short + Sweet Yorkshire.
